It really does work!

Like a lot of other buyers I simply could not believe that a steam cleaner this cheap was any good. I toyed with buying one for twice or even three times as much and finally decided to just buy it.



And you know what? It really is a bargain. I used it to clean gunk out of difficult to reach corners to get out stains in my textured laminate kitchen floor that no amount of scrubbing would reach to remove baked-on stains on my oven that simply wouldn't come out with abrasive pads and soap to clean grout and a dozen other previously impossible tasks. Not only that but it comes with six different attachments all of which are very useful.



Is it perfect? No. A larger water capacity would be nice. So would a larger mop attachment and some extra mops. But given the low price the quality and how well it works it's a bargain.More detail ...

One of the best things ever made better

Everyone knows how useful a roll of duct tape is. But did you ever think how much more useful it would be if it didn't look so lousy? (I wish I had! Doh!)



They've had different color duct tape for a while - the white was handy for a lot of things. But that doesn't quite do it and they don't make every color and I'm not going to buy every color!



But the clear tape is almost like having a roll of every color - since it (somewhat) blends into whatever you use it for. So go ahead and use it on your running shoes your childrens' books (to repair the spine or stick down the popups again) and so many other new uses.



I can't vouch that it lasts as long outside as they claim it does (6x longer). And it is expensive - this is just 20 yards. So as mentioned when you're taping up ducts in the basement you're still probably going to want to use silver duct tape.



The Amazon description above is pretty accurate and useful if you want more info. By the way to find the end ... just run your fingernail around the roll you can feel the end. The tape is thick enough that works well enough.



For a few bucks everyone should have a roll of this at home you'll find a hundred ways to use it. Maybe not on ducts. Or ducks. But you'll use it.More detail ...

Lotta love for this machine!

First let me say... I am an agonizer-analyzer. I read all of the reviews out there on Amazon and the web that I can find. I was down to this... the Shark vs. Wagner steamers. Both seemed similar in reviews... I saved $5 bucks by purchasing the Wagner. I received it 1 day earlier then expected. I opened the box and dug in (yes I am also a person that doesn't necessarily read the instructions... until I can't get something to work that is.) Guess what? EVERYTHING worked without reading the instructions. Note to the wise it is probably best if you do. I have since gone back to ensure I was operating the machine safely and correctly.



I LOVE IT! When people say in their reviews that they couldn't stop cleaning stuff it is SOOOOOO true. These are the things I have cleaned so far. 3 kitchen sinks. I couldn't believe how clean they became. They are all stainless and shining like mad. I really do believe they are clean enough to eat out of them (not that I would). I have granite counters with this itty bitty grout between the sinks and the counters. I didn't realize they used white grout... oh my gosh they look like they were just put in and they are 11 years old.



What else? Yes I didn't stop there. I went over to the stove. It is stainless steel with gas fixtures and iron grates. Do you know how many cleaners I have purchased for the black metal top that have never made it look like it was really totally clean? MANY MANY MANY. This machine did it! And I honestly have to say I didn't put any real elbow grease in at all. It lifted stains that I thought were permanent. It also removed a burn mark in the stainless steel which had been there for at least 3 years (with a lot of scrubbing that didn't take it away). And after using the machine it was really only a matter of wiping a little water residue away.



I really like the length of the handle/hose. I left it on top of one counter and was able to walk around the kitchen without worrying if the yellow beauty was going to fall off the counter or not reach where I wanted to take it. Gotta LOVE IT!



Ok the above were only a few things that I cleaned in the first 15 minutes of opening the box. I probably could have cleaned more but I figured I would save my joy for another day.



A few other comments... I read a review that it was loud to operate. The machine itself doesn't make any noise. It isn't like a motor is going while you are trying to clean. The only noise that is made is the high-pressure steam coming out of the nozzle. What do these people really expect? Hello.... It was music to my ears because of the clean-up it was doing. I can imagine that you wouldn't want to be locked in a small closed in space for long... but hey it didn't take that long to see it sparkle.



This truly is a great investment fun to use with FANTASTIC results.

I had two quotes to paint my 3000 sq. ft. ranch house: $5000 and $6000. The main reason was a the labor involved in scraping and sanding and the thirty windows. The house was in bad shape.



Not one to easily depart with 5 grand I decided to paint the thing myself. This was the first tool I bought and I have to say it has payed for itself ten times over. It took an entire week of sanding with the machine and unlike others it performed flawlessly. I went through three disks so you may want to pick up a disk or two depending on how big your project is.



I removed the gray plastic shield surrounding the disk. Simply squeeze it and it pops right off. The reason was I couldn't get the machine close enough to those tight spots and it was blocking my view. Plus I was wearing safety goggles and a respirator (a must have unless you like lung cancer very fine dust particles) so flying chips weren't a problem.



You can use the machine to feather edge every single paint chip and pock mark as if your restoring an 18th century piece of furniture or just run it along and quickly knock down the chips. Depends on how much time you have. I found that in places where people will be notice like near the patio it worked well to spend extra time to get a nice smooth surface. Other places I just quickly moved it along and in some really tucked away spots I just used a scraper but it simply doesn't do as nice a job.



As far as durability if you apply a lot of pressure you can definitely hear the motor bog down. As an electrical engineer I can assure you that running a motor at full load to point of where it almost stalls will severly shorten the lifespan. I had good results just applying very little pressure and letting the machine do the work.



Overall if your tackling a big job I'd definitely give it a try.More detail ...

Well worth the money

My trusty Sawzall is probably the one small power tool I could not live without so when I saw the Grout Grabber for the first time purchasing it was a relatively easy decision. The white grout around a shower in our home had past its prime and replacing it became the Grout Grabber's first challenge. In less than 2 hours the grout between the 6x6 tiles had been worked down low enough to allow for a new grout application. Wow! Try 2 days or more with a traditional hand tool. The blade action held up well--no noticable ware. I had no trouble reaching all angles and surfaces. Its as good as it gets!

This tool must be the greatest wood working secret in the world! I learned about it in a wood-finishing book. The scraper is to sandpaper what a word processor is to a typewriter. When sharpened properly the scraper smoothes wood faster and better than sandpaper ever will. Learning to sharpen the scraper is easy. You just need a vise an 8" mill file and a burnishing tool (which I highly recommend you purchase). Youtube has several clips showing how to sharpen a scraper. Excellent product

Soy-gel is the best low-toxicity paint stripper I have been able to find. It blows Citristrip away easily lifting off multiple layers of paint. It also removes difficult-to-remove paints (e.g. milk-based). It comes very close to and perhaps even equals the effectiveness of dangerous methylene chloride strippers like Rock Miracle and Easy-Strip.



The product stays wet for a long time increasing its

effectiveness.



It does cost more than twice what the very toxic strippers do but it is worth it for the health benefits. You can leave it working in your house and not worry about being gassed to death while you go about other things.More detail ...
